While Mothers drew inspiration from the stark, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eskeletal sounds of post-punk and contemporary folk, Leschper’s \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003enew work is practically baroque, integrating an array of synthesizers, \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003estrings, woodwinds, and over a dozen percussive instruments. “Earlier \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ework didn’t involve recording as part of the writing process, record\u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003eings were simply made as a document of something that had been \u003c\/span\u003e\u003cspan\u003ewritten and rehearsed.
