Very little is known about him, even the dates and places of his birth and death, yet he was clearly a guitarist and singer of considerable worth. His recorded legacy, whilst fairly brief, features several memorable high points, most notably 1950s sides like 'Love Is A Pain', 'The Letter', 'Highway No. 1', 'Juicy Fruit', 'Lonesome' and 'Wild Life'. This unique compilation anthologises his own recordings between 1946-61, plus a handful of bonus tracks on which he played as a session guitarist, between 1952-55, backing Johnny Sellers, Bobby Prince and Bobbie James.
