Mel Blanc - What's Up Doc: Hit's & Rarities (Uk) [CD]
Mel Blanc was the most prolific voice-over artist in the history of animation. He voiced the most famous of all the Warner Brothers cartoon characters, including Bugs Bunny, was the originator of Woody Woodpecker's voice and Barney Rubble in the Flintstones - All voices that appear in this collection of his most famous music recordings. Also included are some of his rarest tracks appearing on CD for the first time, including his two singles for Warner Brothers, guest appearances on other artists' records and novelty birthday celebration tunes issued on rare Golden Records singles. Whilst Mel's recordings were often intended for children, many of these recordings were made for an adult audience, and the majority of the songs on this set have never been reissued, let alone released on CD. The sheer versatility featured on this collection is perhaps proof that Mel Blanc truly deserved the title "The Man of a Thousand Voices".
